PRP and PRF Treatments
PRP and PRF are regenerative treatments made from a small sample of your own blood. The sample is spun to concentrate platelets and growth factors, which are then applied or injected to stimulate collagen production and tissue repair. Results build gradually over several weeks.

How PRP and PRF Work
Both start with a routine blood draw. The sample is placed in a centrifuge, which separates the components so the platelet-rich portion can be collected.
The difference between PRP and PRF
PRP, platelet-rich plasma, is prepared at higher centrifuge speed and delivers a concentrated burst of growth factors. PRF, platelet-rich fibrin, is prepared at lower speed, which preserves a fibrin matrix along with white blood cells. That matrix acts as a scaffold and releases growth factors more slowly over a longer period.
Neither adds a foreign substance. Everything used comes from you, which is why allergic reaction is not a concern.
Who PRP and PRF Are For
These treatments suit patients who want gradual, natural improvement in skin quality:
- Overall skin texture, tone and firmness
- Fine lines and early crepiness
- Under-eye quality and dark circles
- Support for thinning hair
- Patients who prefer treatments that use nothing synthetic
They are often paired with microneedling, which creates channels that let the platelet concentrate reach deeper.
What to Expect
The visit begins with a blood draw, similar to routine lab work. While the sample spins, topical numbing is applied. The concentrate is then either injected into the target area or applied during microneedling.
The full appointment usually takes 45 to 75 minutes including preparation.
Aftercare
Expect redness for a day or two, and mild swelling or bruising where injections were placed. Avoid makeup for the rest of the day when combined with microneedling, and keep the skin clean and moisturized.
Results build gradually as collagen forms. Most patients need a series of three sessions spaced about four weeks apart, then maintenance.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is PRP the same as Pure Plasma?
No. PRP uses concentrated platelets from your own blood. Pure Plasma is a device that delivers thermal energy from super-heated nitrogen. They are unrelated treatments with confusingly similar names.
Should I choose PRP or PRF?
PRF releases growth factors more slowly because of its fibrin matrix, which many providers prefer for facial work. Your provider will recommend based on your goals.
How many sessions will I need?
A series of three, spaced roughly four weeks apart, is typical, followed by maintenance.
