How a Custom Facial Works
Treatment begins with an assessment of your skin, since skin changes with season, stress, hormones and product use. Your provider then selects the exfoliation, extraction approach, mask and finishing products that suit your skin that day.
The value is in the judgment rather than in any single step. A facial built for congested, oily skin looks very different from one built for dehydrated, reactive skin.
Who a Custom Facial Is For
A facial suits patients who:
- Want maintenance and consistency rather than one dramatic result
- Are unsure what their skin needs and want a professional assessment
- Prefer a relaxing, hands-on treatment with no recovery
- Are preparing skin for more advanced treatments
- Have sensitive or reactive skin that does not tolerate acids or devices well
Choosing between a facial, a HydraFacial and a chemical peel
All three are offered here and they do different jobs.
- Custom facial: hands-on, adaptable, gentle. Best for maintenance, relaxation, and skin that needs assessment rather than a set protocol.
- HydraFacial: device-driven and consistent. Best for congestion and instant brightness before an event, with the same result every time.
- Chemical peel: the strongest of the three. Best for pigment, sun damage and texture, and the only one of the three that involves visible peeling.
If you are not sure which fits, book a consultation and your provider will tell you honestly.
What to Expect
Plan on about an hour. Skin is cleansed and assessed, then exfoliated. Extractions are performed where needed, followed by a mask suited to your skin and finishing products including sun protection.
It is a comfortable, low-stimulation treatment.
Aftercare
There is no downtime, though skin may look slightly pink for a short time if extractions were performed. Use sun protection and give active ingredients a day off.
Monthly treatment gives the best cumulative result.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a facial and a HydraFacial?
A HydraFacial follows a set device-driven protocol and delivers the same treatment consistently every time. A custom facial is built by your provider around what your skin needs that day, with more flexibility in products, technique and hands-on work.
Should I get a facial or a chemical peel?
A facial maintains and refreshes with no downtime. A peel resurfaces and is the stronger choice for pigment, sun damage and texture, but involves visible flaking. Many patients alternate between them.
How often should I come in?
Monthly matches the skin's natural renewal cycle and gives the most consistent result.
Will I have extractions?
Only where they are needed and appropriate. Your provider will assess rather than extract by default.
Is a facial worth it if I already get injectables?
Yes. Injectables address volume and movement. Facials address the surface and quality of the skin, which is what people actually see first.
