How Xeomin Works
Xeomin is incobotulinumtoxinA. It blocks the nerve signal to a treated muscle so the muscle relaxes and the overlying skin stops creasing, which is how all neuromodulators soften expression lines.
What sets Xeomin apart is its pure formulation. The manufacturing process removes the accessory proteins that accompany the active ingredient in other neuromodulators, leaving only the therapeutic component. Some patients and providers prefer this highly purified neuromodulator for that reason.
Who Xeomin Is For
Xeomin suits patients who want to soften frown lines, forehead lines or crow's feet, and it is often chosen by patients who:
- Prefer a formulation without accessory proteins
- Have been treated with neuromodulators for many years
- Are looking for a reliable, predictable result
Your provider will discuss which neuromodulator fits your goals during consultation.
What to Expect
The appointment runs about 15 minutes. A series of small injections is placed into the target muscles with a very fine needle. No anesthesia is needed and there is no recovery period.
You can return to normal activities right away, staying upright for four hours and skipping strenuous exercise until the following day.
Aftercare
Small bumps at the injection sites fade within about an hour. Light bruising is possible and easily covered. Do not rub or massage the treated area for the rest of the day.
Results typically appear within three to five days and reach full effect at two weeks. Most patients repeat treatment every three to four months.

Frequently Asked Questions
What makes Xeomin different?
Its pure formulation. Xeomin is manufactured without the accessory proteins found in other neuromodulators, so only the active ingredient is delivered.
How long does Xeomin last?
Three to four months for most patients, in line with other neuromodulators.
Can I switch to Xeomin from another product?
Yes. Your provider will convert your dosing appropriately, since units are not interchangeable between neuromodulator brands.
