Skin Resurfacing with Venus Versa Pro

Skin resurfacing with Venus Versa Pro uses NanoFractional radiofrequency to deliver heat through tiny pins into the skin, creating micro-channels surrounded by intact tissue. It improves scars, texture, enlarged pores and pigmentation, and is safe across all Fitzpatrick skin types.

How NanoFractional RF Resurfacing Works

The applicator delivers radiofrequency energy through an array of tiny pins, creating micro-channels of treated tissue with healthy skin left intact around each one. That surrounding tissue drives rapid healing and keeps downtime low.

SmartScan technology varies the pattern and placement of those channels, letting your provider customize ablation and coagulation to your skin and your concern rather than treating everyone identically.

Because the energy is radiofrequency rather than light, it is not absorbed by melanin. That is why it is safe for all Fitzpatrick skin types and carries a lower risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation than many laser options.

Who This Treatment Is For

Resurfacing suits patients focused on texture:

  • Acne scars and other scarring
  • Rough or uneven skin texture
  • Enlarged pores
  • Rosacea and stretch marks
  • Uneven pigmentation and dyschromia

It is a particularly good option for patients with deeper skin tones who have been told they are not candidates for ablative laser resurfacing.

What to Expect

Topical numbing is applied first. Treatment takes 20 to 40 minutes depending on the area. You will feel heat and a prickling sensation as the applicator passes over the skin.

Immediately afterward the skin is red and feels tight, similar to sunburn.

Aftercare

Redness and a grid-like texture on the skin are normal for the first day or two. Most patients return to their normal skin care routine about 24 hours after treatment. Keep the skin moisturized and use strict sun protection.

Improvement builds over the following weeks as new collagen forms. A series of three to four sessions spaced several weeks apart is typical.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this safe for darker skin tones?

Yes. NanoFractional radiofrequency is not absorbed by melanin, so it is safe across all Fitzpatrick skin types and carries a lower risk of pigment complications than light-based resurfacing.

How does this compare to Fraxel?

Fraxel uses laser light and is excellent for pigment and sun damage. NanoFractional RF uses radiofrequency and is often preferred for texture and scarring, and for patients who are not good laser candidates.

How much downtime is there?

Typically about 24 hours before returning to your normal skin care routine, with redness settling over a day or two.
