Restylane®

Restylane is a family of hyaluronic acid dermal fillers used to restore volume, define contours and soften folds. Results are visible immediately, treatment takes 30 to 60 minutes, and results generally last six to eighteen months depending on the product and area.

How Restylane Works

Restylane gels are cross-linked hyaluronic acid placed beneath the skin to replace volume that has been lost. The gel supports the tissue immediately and attracts water, giving a same-day result that continues to settle over the following two weeks.

The family spans several textures. Some products are built for firm structural support, others are formulated to stay flexible so they move naturally in expressive areas like the lips and the lower face.

Who Restylane Is For

Restylane suits patients looking to restore or define, including:

  • Lip volume, shape and border definition
  • Cheek and midface volume loss
  • Lines from nose to mouth (nasolabial folds)
  • Lines from corners of mouth to chin (labiomental area)
  • Under-eye hollows and tear troughs

What to Expect

Treatment takes 30 to 60 minutes. Topical numbing is applied, and most Restylane products include lidocaine for comfort. Your provider will use a needle or a cannula depending on the area being treated.

You leave with a visible result. Swelling in the first few days is normal and expected, particularly with lip treatment.

Aftercare

Expect swelling and possible bruising for three to seven days. Ice intermittently on the first day, keep your head elevated overnight, and avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol and significant heat for 24 to 48 hours.

Assess your final result at two weeks, not before.
