Excessive Sweating Treatment (Hyperhidrosis)
Excessive sweating, known medically as hyperhidrosis, can be treated with neuromodulator injections that block the nerve signals activating the sweat glands. A single treatment takes about 20 minutes, requires no downtime, and typically reduces underarm sweating for four to six months.
How Hyperhidrosis Treatment Works
Sweat glands are switched on by a nerve signal. A neuromodulator interrupts that signal at the point where the nerve meets the gland, so the gland is not activated and does not produce sweat in the treated area.
A grid of small injections is placed just under the skin across the underarm. The effect is local. Your body continues to regulate temperature normally everywhere else.

This is for patients whose sweating goes beyond normal and interferes with daily life:
- Sweating through shirts regardless of temperature or activity
- Keeping a change of clothes at work
- Avoiding certain fabrics or colors
- Antiperspirants, including prescription strength, not working

What to Expect
Your provider may perform a simple starch-iodine test to map the most active areas. The underarm is then treated with a grid of small injections using a very fine needle. The whole appointment takes about 20 minutes.
There is no downtime and no restriction on activity afterward.
Aftercare
Small bumps at the injection sites settle within an hour. Avoid deodorant and shaving for 24 hours, and skip the gym for the rest of the day.
Reduction in sweating usually begins within two to four days and reaches full effect at about two weeks. Most patients return every four to six months.

How long does it last?
