Tampa Skin Rejuvenation
There are three kinds of lasers that are used to Tampa Skin Rejuvenation. The lasers are carbon dioxide, erbium and the long-pulse erbium. Hat is a laser? A laser is an abbreviation for “light amplification by the stimulated emission of radiation.” The laser itself is a thin beam of intense, bright light that goes only in one direction. The laser usually only has one color and the beam can be changed. You can vary its intensity and its pulse duration. Today’s lasers are better than the past lasers in being used for treatment and they are much safer today than they were in the past.
In contrast to the previous version of CO2 lasers, the newest generation of pulsed CO2 lasers delivers short bursts of extremely high-energy laser light. This revolutionary technology actually vaporizes the undesired skin tissue one layer at a time, revealing fresh skin underneath. Often referred to as a pulsed CO2 laser, the laser’s highly focused beam enables the dermatologic surgeon to gently remove the skin’s surface with a lower risk of scarring and other complications in properly selected patients. Healing generally occurs over a two-month period.
The new carbon dioxide lasers emit a light that is extremely high-energy. This laser completely vaporizes the undesired skin layer at a time until you see the fresh skin underneath. It is also called a pulsed carbon dioxide laser. With this laser, a doctor can do the procedure with a minimal scarring and complications.
The erbium laser produces energy at a wavelength that should gently penetrate the skin. This laser is usually used for moderate facial wrinkles, mild surface scars or skin discoloration. The gentleness of this laser allows to do it with sun-damaged skin that is around the mouth and eyes. You can also use laser on your neck and hands. The other advantages of this laser are that you get reduced redness, less side effects and healing in 5 to 7 days.
A new generation of lasers is now long-pulsed and the long-pulsed erbium is one of them. The results of this laser lies somewhere in between the carbon dioxide laser and the erbium laser. This laser does provide better wrinkle relief and a reduced risk of scarring compared to the other lasers. This laser does have less heat and the change may not be striking as with the others.
