Don’t let the term “neurotoxin” fool you. The paralyzing agent Botulinum toxin type A is the neurotoxin in injectable Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin responsible for relaxing and easing the appearance of facial wrinkles to help you achieve younger looking skin. Each injectable form of Botulinum toxin type A has its unique characteristics, but overall they each work in the same way to relax the facial muscles responsible for creating the lines in your face that turn into deeply etched wrinkles.
Clearwater Botox: Eliminate Wrinkles and Crows Feet
Botox works by injecting minuscule amounts of a highly purified botulinum toxin protein into your skin. While the toxin relaxes muscle contractions in the treated areas, the proteins clump together to help the effects of the procedure last longer. After a couple weeks of no furrowed facial expressions, your skin will relax, smooth out, and the creases just disappear! It’s the easiest solution for smooth skin that you could hope to find.
The Tampa/Clearwater Botox treatment only takes a matter of minutes. During the procedure the experts at Ultimate Image will inject the Botox into targeted areas of your face. You won’t feel much pain, just a faint pinching feeling. Botox is used to treat crow’s feet, forehead lines and to lift the brow and eliminate the 11 lines or Glabellar lines between the eyes.
Botox has been extensively studied in clinical trials and over 400 peer-reviewed articles, leading it to be FDA-approved for cosmetic use in nearly 80 countries. When you choose Botox, you choose a trusted brand with a proven track record of success.
Botox results lasts up to four months, at which time you can return for another simple procedure to maintain your youthful appearance.
Dysport: The Natural Brow Wrinkle Solution
Much like Botox, Dysport uses an injection of a neurotoxin to temporarily improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows, called glabellar lines. The Dysport product prides itself on freezing and relaxing only the treated area, leaving the rest of your face moving and expressing emotions normally.
With FDA-approval, use in 57 countries, and backed by 25 years of clinical research, Dysport is a proven cosmetic enhancement. It uses one injection on each of five points above the brows to temporarily halt muscle contractions that cause frown lines. The result is a smoother, more radiant face throughout the life of the injection, which is also about four months.
This treatment takes a mere 15 minutes, and results are visible in as little as two days!
Xeomin: Banish Wrinkles for Younger Looking Skin
Moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows are a cosmetic nuisance that come from years of facial expressions taking a toll on the appearance of your skin. Xeomin is the newest treatment to rid the skin of those frown lines for up to six months. It’s wildly popular in Germany and has now made its way to America as a close cousin of the Botox and Dysport treatments.
Xeomin has been approved by the FDA for the treatment of facial wrinkles. It works similar to Botox and Dysport in the sense that it uses an injection to paralyze the muscles responsible for moving the face in a way that creates frown lines between the eyebrows.
However, it’s different from other wrinkle procedures because it is “naked”. In other words, it consists of only one ingredient, Botulinum Toxin A, so it is free of additives and extra proteins. This minimizes the potential for allergic reactions and other complications. Some scientists claim that this “naked” form helps Xeomin work faster and more effectively than its other injection counterparts.
Your new and improved wrinkle-free face will start to show signs of improvement within one week of treatment, and you’ll be able to enjoy smooth, younger looking skin for up to six months before the treatment wears away. Regardless of which product you choose, Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are all guaranteed to help you achieve a more youthful appearance free of wrinkles and fine lines that come with age.
Q: What is BOTOX® and Dysport®
A: Botulinum toxin
Q: Are they safe?
A: Yes, they are administered in safe, miniscule amounts. BOTOX® has been used medically for the past 25 years for treatment of medical conditions that require the relaxation of muscles and it was found to have a secondary effect of erasing wrinkles. BOTOX® and Dysport® are both FDA approved for cosmetic use.
Q: How often will you need to have an injection?
A: Most people will want to repeat the procedure every 3 to 5 months when muscle function returns.
Q: Does it hurt?
A: The administration of BOTOX® or Dysport® is simple, takes only about 10 minutes and is minimally invasive. At Ultimate Image, we use ice before injecting for two reasons:
1. it is an effective topical anesthetic
2. the application of ice minimizes bruising by constricting the capillaries
Q: Is there anything I should or shouldn’t do before or after the injection?
A: To minimize the risk of bruising, it is best not to take aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oils or large doses of Vitamin E (greater than 100 IU/day) for two weeks before the treatment. However, this is a precaution only. Some clients prefer not to stop supplements prior to injections. After your injection, it is best not to lay down on your face for the next four hours. You may resume all other normal activities immediately after your injection.
Q: Will my wrinkles go away completely?
A: The appearance of wrinkles will be significantly lessened within a week. As new skin cells regenerate and old wrinkled cells are sloughed, the wrinkle will eventually disappear as long as the BOTOX® or Dysport® treatment is repeated.
